On some afternoons, our rooms should simply be open – to chill out, to get to know people, to do nothing and also to learn.
We want to be here to support each other and young people with school assignments. It should be a space where we can be angry at school together and where we can do homework and learning stuff together at the same time.
Almost ¼ of pupils in Vienna need tutoring to get through their learning/school years – this is not only expensive and exhausting, but is also strongly linked to class (keyword: inherited education) and discrimination.
We would like to see an education system that focuses on empowerment, critical thinking and the strengths of young people instead of isolating, burning out and disciplining them.
In our learning cafés, we want mutual support, community and a shared critique of the education system.
